Dining in Salzburg on a Monday.

Any recommendations for a great restaurant after a LONG flight? We like everything, near city center prefer.

Next to St. Peter's Cathedral, on several occasions I have enjoyed an evening dinner at the oldest restaurant (since 803 A.D.) in Central Europe, St Peter Stiftskeller. Mozart dined here with his family.

We just returned and also dined at St. Peter Stifskeller and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is more on the formal side (though not too fancy). Service was very good. If you're like me after a long flight, you may not full enjoy the experience :). If you'll be in Salzburg for a few days, I would save this for another night and do something more quick/easy the day you get in. We had a great dinner at a little place called Gastwirtschaft, which was in Old Town. 45 euro for two drinks, a soup, and two entrees. Fast service and really good food.

Just finishing our time in Salzburg. We really liked Zipfer Bierhaus near the Dom. I had perch with pumpkin curry, etc. and my hubby had deer in at tagioli tomato with walnuts. We also ate at the Old Fox just across the river. I like lots of veggies, and the Wok restaurant around the corner from our Hotel Weiss Taube was a decent option for the basics.
