Day-trip from Salzberg in April

Seeking a 2nd Day-Trip from Salzburg in April, using public tranportation. (We have Hallstatt planned--looking for one more).

We are hoping to see Alpine views. Easy to moderate hiking, or no hiking, either way.
Do you recommend
--Berchtesgaden and Lake Konigsse (are both possible in a single day) OR
--St Gilgen and St Wolfgang

we orignally had a day in Innsbruck, but forum members didnt recomend Innsbruck as a day trip.

any day itinerary from Salzburg is welcome!

Since you are already going to Hallstatt, I wouldn’t do St. Gilgen & St. Wolfgang. They are on the way to/from Salzburg, so you could stop if you wanted to on the day you go to Hallstatt.

I would choose Berchtesgaden & Konigsee. You can do both in a day. Go to the lake first.

If you want spectacular mountain views, go south to Werfen. Go to the fortress. Then go paragliding. It will be an experience you’ll never forget. We went with FlyTandem.

Another one here that would say go to Konigssee and Berchtesgaden. Berchtesgaden is one of our favorite places to stay and visit.

I would go wtih Berchtesgaden and Königssee.

We are hoping to see Alpine views. Easy to moderate hiking, or no
hiking, either way.

There is a really, really nice hike at Königssee that leads to Röthbach Waterfall, Germany's highest waterfall. Take the boat all the way across the lake to the Salet stop. Take the easy 15-minute walk to Obersee, a smaller lake that is Instagram worthy. Hike around the right side of the lake to its opposite side and then ascend to an alpine meadow that is surrounded on three sides by granite peaks. The waterfall is at the far end of the meadow. It's a relatively easy hike with a nice pay off. Highly recommended!
