Danube bend or Wachau Valley

I have an extra day on my trip this fall. Should I explore the Danube bend or the Wachau Valley. We will have a car and love little picturesque towns.

If you are staying in Budapest then Danube bend. If in Vienna - Wachau Valley.

Which Danube bend do you mean?

There is one north of Budapest in Hungary.

There is the famous "Schlögener Schlinge", which is about 90 miles away from Melk, the beginning of the Wachau.

So a reasonable decision depends highly from where you start.

Nevertheless, the Wachau with its nice towns, namely Dürnstein, is preferrably, in my opinion.

Sorry, I was not specific enough. I am staying in both Vienna and Budapest so both would be easy but I only have time for one. When I said the Danube bend I meant the one north of Budapest.

Thanks

You were specific enough. Here is one of my most surprising posts: You will get more value out of the car by using it to see the Wachau Valley and Melk - ORBAN FORGIVE ME!

(I googled Danube Bend and Google understood)
