Between a card to pay for accommodation will I use mainly Austrian currency or are euros useful?
Austria is on the euro...
Austrian currency is the Euro. They haven't had their own currency since the early 1990's.
Can I use my "old lady" card😁😁? Obviously I did not look up currency chart . Have a good week.
You can pay with your credit card nearly everywhere, nevertheless there are some cash-only places. Payment apps (e.g. Apple Pay) on your mobile phone have become very popular, too. To get cash from an ATM it is best to have a debit card, using a credit card imposes extra fees, in either case a PIN is required. For online purchases in Europe some merchants request that the 3-D Secure security feature is to be activated on your card, most notably OeBB, the Austrian National Railroad.

haha Someone should have told that to Austria, I still have some Schillings from when I visited in 1998.
Effective January 1st, 2002 the Euro replaced the Schilling in Austria.
I believe that's the same date that Montenegro commandeered the Euro. A story that always makes me smile.

Here I was under the impression it was the AUS Dollar. Good to know.
