croatia vs austria

With art, history and architecture I would lean toward Austria. Many waterfalls are in Plitvice National Park - that's in Croatia.

Such a great problem. What is so challenging in making your choice? Do you really want total strangers with all our great strengths and weaknesses to decide for you? Me? Love both countries, but have a stronger desire to return to Croatia.

Edit: I suggest you include Ljubljana in your itinerary if Croatia is your prime destination.

Austria would be my choice, primarily Vienna. Given that you have only one week, Austrian waterfalls are not reachable in a reasonable time from Vienna.

I prefer being on salt water and loved Croatia's Adriatic seafood. Beautiful, charming country.. Strong Italian influences on Dalmatian Coast.I have to disclose that I do not like German/ Austrian food so have trouble in Austria, Germany, Switzerland.

I'd move to Croatia in a heartbeat if I could. I love that country.

Why do you think it is unsafe?

Why not both ? you're only two-three hours apart.Enjoy it all.....

If you like art and history,Austria would be my choice with so much great Habsburg influence in the country and the great art museums of Vienna.

thank you all. I decided on Austria. I have 4-5 days. Should I stick to Vienna or are there any other places of interest. this will help me narrow down my research.
i do not know anything about croatia, that's why i wanted to know about it - i will travelling with my kid.
