Hello. We are planning a trip to Budapest and have a connection in Vienna of 1 hour and 25 minutes. We will be coming from the US on a single ticket and flying Austria Airline. Also connecting on Austria Airline to Budapest. Do you think that is enough time to clear immigrations and make our connection? Thank you.
How many flights does Austrian have to Budapest after the one you are scheduled on? That will tell you what your back-up is. Also, your inbound flight could still be delayed.
This is a common forum question and the answer really is, who knows? If your flight is the only one that lands at that time, and immigration is fully staffed, and there's nothing funky in any of your records, you could zip through in record time. But what if 3 flights land at once, or the computer system goes down, or half the workers called in sick that day, or your flight is delayed?
Vienna is not that big of an airport and fairly efficient.
Here's information on transfering (connecting) from the aiport's website:

When you check in for your flight in the US, they should also check you in and issue your boarding pass for the second flight.

This should include checking your baggage through to the final destination.
