My daughter & I are finishing our last night in Vienna before heading onward to Salzburg tomorrow.
Clothes - I only brought my snow boots that are waterproof. So far I am very happy with that choice. I brought toe warmers - don’t need them. My toasty winter coat is wonderful! During the day, I wear a 32 Degree thin shirt with the coat. At night, I add a long-sleeve thicker cotton T. Daytime pants are ones I wear to church, etc. At night, I add a 32 Degree thin bottom layer. In the evening I add a hat & gloves.
Food - I refer to the gluhwein as “gasoline wine” - haven’t acquired the taste for it! LOL! We’ve tried an assortment of punsche, too. Currently hot chocolate with whipped cream is winning.
Figlmüller was fun & delicious! We sat at a table next to the one where my husband & I sat previously. Paremi Boulangerie had fantastic Parisian pastries, cappuccinos & OJ.
I may need an intervention! These mugs are too cute! We’ve been laughing about how many are already in our suitcase. Remember how I pack extremely light? Well, this trip is breaking all of those rules in the souvenir category! : ). It certainly doesn’t help that several of the Vienna markets have 2-3 different styles of mugs!
Activity to mention: The Votive Church is having an amazing light show - “Light of Creation”. It’s only about 30 minutes & beautiful - both the music & colorful designs.
Thanks again, Emily, for your very helpful details about Christmas Markets, food, transportation, etc.! It’s been fun to be back in Vienna again! We were able to enjoy five Christmas Markets.
