I am looking for restaurant recommendations for Christmas dinner in Vienna Austria. I will be traveling with my husband and adult children one of which is a vegetarian. Thank you in advance.

On which day exactly? December 23, 24, 25, or 26? Note that December 25 and 26 are public holidays in Austria. Restaurants will have special (very restricted) opening times for these days. Going to a restaurant during that time is not a tradition in Austria, usually people have family dinners at home (including the restaurants' staff).
Be aware that Weihnachten (Christmas in German) refers to December 24.
Christtag means December 25. Stefanitag means December 26.

This question came up a while back and I googled restaurants open in Vienna at Christmas and found a couple of lists. You can also go to reservation websites like Open Table.

Sure the choices will be limited, but unless the culture is significantly different than here, 2.5 hours down the tracks in Budapest, there will be plenty to choose from. But its not too early to make a reservation.
