Christmas at Seefeld

My mum and I are thinking of staying up at Seefeld over the Christmas period instead of Innsbruck itself. Does anyone have recommendations for accommodation. Would prefer something that is more intimate and friendly hopefully with a spa and sauna. We don't ski but just want to hopefully have a white Christmas.

I have enjoyed the Hotel Das Eden several times. They have a small spa with various treatments available, and an indoor/outdoor heated pool. We usually stay half board because dinner is quite tasty.

Price for the hotel is usually around €100 and add about €40 for the half board for 2, but those are spring/summer prices. I don't have any idea what winter/Christmas would run.

They have a free for guests open car park; for €10 or similar you can get an individual garage.

If you really want to push the boat out - you don't indicate what your budget is - the Dorint is spectacular. I stayed there a couple of times under its old name and once when it changed to Dorint - that time it was playing host to several Mille Miglia cars on the way to Brescia, that was fun - and the spa and breakfasts are fab.

It is out of our price range now, and less well situated for the centre of town, but fabulous views.

You could check the town's website at: www.seefeld.at On the left side of the screen, enter your dates and you could scroll down and select the type of accommodation you are seeking. In 2013, after visiting the Innsbruck market, we stayed in Tulfes at the Gasthof Neuwirt. Tulfes is a small mountain town with beautiful scenery. If you would like to read my blogs on the Christmas markets, send me a personal message for the URL. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the replies. We will be travelling by train and I guess our budget will probably be around E100-150 per night depending on half board or just B&B. We've travelled everything from backpacker style to 5 star but much prefer the friendly, family style accommodation instead of austere, no personality. I know it is a tourist town so I'm hoping that restaurants will still be open on Christmas Eve / Christmas Day if we stay at a B&B. Thanks again
