We would like to rent a car in Vienna and and return it in Zurich (where our return flight is). Who would you recommend renting from? We would like to go to Graz (wine road south of there), the Grossglockner Road, Innsbruck, St Anton and over to Zurich. We have basically 8 days to do this. Where would you recommend stopping ? We like the smaller towns. Thinking of Heiligenbrut, Mittersill, Zell am See and maybe St. Gallen. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks, Dan

Renting a car in one country and returning in another can add on a huge one way fee. I would look at that first. It that will be the case, I would arrange your itinerary so you drop the car off in Austria (Innsbruck, maybe), then continue by train to Switzerland. You don’t want or need a car in Switzerland. Check out the SBB app for train info.

I have rented from AutoEurope on a number of occasions, including Germany in 2022 and Austria in 2010, and have always been happy with their service. They are a consolidator so will give you a number of options to choose from when renting.
