Can we take the Sound of Music tour if we have to be there at 1:30?

My husband and are going on the RS 21-day tour of Europe and we’ll be in Salzburg for a day. The schedule says that we’ll be free at 2pm. But all of the Sound of Music tours that I’ve researched (both Bob’s tour and the Panorama tours) seem to start at 2pm and you have to be at the meeting place by 1:30pm. Is it actually possible to do the SoM tours while on the 21-day tour? Thanks!

y. The schedule says that we’ll be free at 2pm.

What are you doing on the tour prior to 2? You don’t have to stay with the group; you can leave early and skip the group activity. This would work if the tour group was in Salzburg but not if you are on the bus to some other location

Day 7: Salzburg and Strudel
This morning we'll join a local guide and trace Mozart's steps on a walking tour through charming Salzburg, a city of splendid gardens, beautiful Baroque architecture, and picturesque medieval lanes. We'll enjoy lunch together and finish with a cooking lesson, where we'll learn to make one of Austria's famous pastries — Apfelstrudel. The rest of the day is free for hiking up the fortress hill for a panoramic view, tagging along on a Sound of Music tour, or strolling around the charmingly preserved old town. This evening is perfect for enjoying a classical music performance.
Moderate walking: 2–6 miles throughout the day with some hills and stairs. Bus: 1 hour. Sleep in Salzburg.

Looks like you could skip out early from the planned activity. Just let the guide know you will be leaving early.

Puzzled why it says "Bus 1 hour" Is lunch and the cooking class a half hour drive outside of town?

that seems possible, joe32F

I'd call the RS Tour Office for specifics if I were trying to leave early that day.

I have done a SOM tour(Bob's) but not the RS tour. Honestly, the RS tour activities sound better to me than the SOM tour that we took.

We did both that cooking class and Bob's Special Tours in Dec. 2022. Loved both!!! The cooking class is very good, and at the end of class you have lunch that they make. So you can easily skip out on that and head to the meeting point for the SOM tour. Just let the cooking school know your plans so they can package up your strudel in time so you are not racing.

Hi, its Johann from the cooking school. We are usually done latest by 1:10pm, so there is plenty of time to get there.

Johann - that’s awesome! Where is the cooking school located? I’d like to try to map it to the starting points for the two tours and see how long it takes to travel to them. Thanks again!
