Hello!
I am traveling to Budapest and Austria for a honeymoon from June 23-July 8th. We are so excited but I want to make sure that we do not have too many things planned.
We are planning to take a roundtrip flight from Budapest on the 23rd and returning on July 7th to save money. Right now our makeshift outline looks something like this.
- Budapest - June 23rd-June 28th(Traveling on the 28th to St. Johann im Pongau)
2.St.Johann im Pongau/Salzburg Region - June 28th-July 3rd(We have an exchanged timeshare in St.Johann im Pongau reserved 7 days, we will use this as our home base to explore Salzburg, Hallstatt, and Werfen).
3.Tyrol Region/Olperehutte + Krimml Waterfalls - July 3rd-July 6th?
We love hiking and the outdoors! The Olpererhutte hike seems like something out of a dream for us. However, we are trying not to use a rental car and it seems complicated to make it fit in our itinerary. Another reason it is difficult is because we need to get back to Budapest before the 8th! Any tips on how we include this into our itinerary would be greatly appreciated. If this is too much traveling and would cause more stress than actual enjoyment, then we will skip out on the Tyrol region and stay in Vienna till the 8th.
4.Travel to Vienna/Budapest(July 6-8)
We plan on flying back on the 8th in Budapest, taking a long bus/train to Vienna on the 6th, and staying two nights.
We have to stay all 7 days in the Salzburg region because of the timeshare, so that can not be affected. Our goal is to not overwhelm ourselves too much! Again, we would love tips/advice to make our trip smoother and less stressful. If this is too much, then we have the time to change our itinerary. Thank you so much!
