Can anyone speak to Ama Waterways bike tour excursions? We will be on The Melodies of the Danube river cruise in Sept. and will be cruising from Budapest to Vilshofen. We would like to do a bike excursion they offer beginning in Weissenkirchen and ending in Melk. I'm trying to figure out the difficulty of the path going in that direction... Is it mostly flat, or does it have an incline going in that direction? My husband and I are 65 years old and love to ride e-bikes ( in our younger days we always did a regular bike day in various places we would travel) The length of the trip is 15 miles. Wondering about the pace also.

Many years ago we did the Melk->Krems ride along the river. It was very easy and, if I remember, flat the whole way. The river is very gradual, so you'd expect less very minimal elevation fluctuations - even against the flow.
At a very casual speed, it should be a less than 2 hr journey. I also think those rides are paced so that everyone will be comfortable, and not in anyway a quick tempo sort of thing.
