We are traveling to Vienna and Budapest in October. When we return home, we have a flight out of Vienna at noon, and we're staying in Budapest the night before. We're hoping to go from Budapest directly to the airport in Vienna that morning in time for our flight. Does anyone know the best way to get from Budapest to Vienna Airport? From what I've read, it looks like there are early-morning buses and trains, but I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions. Thanks!

Being 3 hours away from the airport with a noon flight is an engraved invitation for disaster.
Are you flying to another Schengen country?
If your flight from VIE is your flight home, you really need to reconsider your plan and plan to be in Vienna the night before.
Getting up at 4AM to get ready to get a bus or train that leaves before 6AM is to me 'cruel and unusual punishment' beside being stressful of what might go wrong.
Flixbus does have a couple buses that go to VIE from Budapest and are scheduled to arrive by 9AM

Diane’s post is misleading as the time she gives for the train takes you to the main train station. It is then another 30 minutes and a train change to get you to the airport. It makes the most sense to take Flixbus as it is direct to the airport, making it faster than the train.
