is it best to do walking tours of Vienna , or is the area too big??
any recommendations for hop on hop off busses??

The central area of Vienna is small enough to walk around, and HOHO buses are a waste of time because much of it is pedestrianised.

we are in Vienna right now, are staying at one of Ricks recommended hotels on Habsburget and are amazed at how close together everything is-a wonderful city for walking!

You can walk across the city center in 15-20 minutes, if that tells you anything.
The Belvedere and Schönbrunn will need to be reached by public transportation.
HOHO are useless in Vienna as they cannot go into the city center. The HOHO buses go to secondary sights but promote them to make them sound more interesting than they are to sell tickets.
