Shuttle??? That's a couple hundred miles.

Do you mean bus or train, maybe?

In addition to the bus and train there are shuttles from Salzburg to Prague. Bus is cheapest ( 5-1/2 hrs), train is next cheapest and longest (about 6 1/2hrs with a change at Linz), shuttles are most expensive (about 20-30% more than the train) and take 5 to 5-1/2 hrs. Some shuttles even stop and give you a couple of hours in Cesky Krumlov on the way to Prague. Try CK Shuttle, Bean Shuttle, Jifi Shuttle. I used Jifi Shuttle from Salzburg to Cesky Krumlov and they were fine - actually I was the only one booked for that day so instead of a mini-bus/van I got a private car transfer right to my B&B in CK for the price of a shuttle ride.

For train schedules, see the DB schedule link. It reflects the fastest train connections at various times of day, which often includes the DB bus from Munich to Prague.

We used Lobo Shuttle from Prague to Salzburg. Is it the best? I don't know, since I haven't used any others. I did see advertisements for cheaper ones.

What we did was to go from Prague to Cesky Krumlov with two stops on the way, at two very different castles--one a very pretty, fairy tale-like castle, and the other a castle ruin. We count this as one of our best days of our trip (which was absolutely great, overall). We stayed overnight in Cesky Krumlov at Pension Lobo (same owners, which is why we chose that particular shuttle) and toured that town in the late afternoon, evening, and morning. The next day we took the same shuttle to Salzburg.

We had the shuttle to ourselves on the first day, because of our stops (so it was more expensive, of course), and the trip took, I think, just under 3 hours not counting our stops (about 6 hours total with the stops). It's hard to tell exactly how long the Salzberg leg of the trip would normally take, since we shared the shuttle with another couple who were catching a train in Linz, and we ran into horrible traffic jams there. It took about 4 hours, but over an hour of that was spent in traffic in and out of Linz. We were initially quoted about 2-2 1/2 hours, which is probably right.

We paid a little over 9000 Czech Koruna, including our room at the pension (1080 with the 10% shuttle discount) and 1000 for the extra stopping time). The shuttle to Salzburg from Cesky Krumlov was 2200 Czech Koruna, making it about 7000 base price from Salzburg to Prague.
