Belvedere Palace -- don't miss

This delightful museum has a fascinating, eclectic collection of art thoughtfully and beautifully displayed. The paintings are hung at eye level and the sculptures are well positioned. Labels and explanations are in English as well as German and the audio guides provide additional information. Don't miss the medieval art on the ground floor in your rush to get to the Klimts upstairs. An interesting grouping of Renoir, Monet, Manet and Klimt provides an opportunity to muse about the Impressionist era.
We enjoyed eating in the cafe: good food, friendly waiter!

Hi,

You're absolutely right about the importance and beauty of Belvedere, not only at it pertains to art but also as an historical chateau belonging to Prinz Eugen (now that's one statue where you can see both in Vienna and Budapest) and where the Archduke FF lived for a time.
