It had to happen, just like Cinque Terre and other spots popularized by RS.
I saw the clip this morning on BBC World, too. Apparently some Asian TV series film on location there, which accounts for the majority of visitors. China also has built a Hallstatt full size replica, which only enhances demand to visit the real thing.
Hallstatt has a beautiful setting, not much you can do about it. The second time I was there, a huge crane was parked close to the town entrance. Maybe a few more of those would put people off.
