Bad Ischl

We will be staying in Salzburg for 3 days and considering going to Bad Ischl for a spa experience. Any suggestions?

Suggestions? Where to go or how to get there?

Been through Bad Ischl. Never been to a spa there.

To get there, take the train from Salzburg Hbf to Attnang-Puchheim. Change there for Bad Ischl. If you take the IC to Attnang-Puchheim, the time will be about 2 hrs and the fare will be 23,30€/person. If you use a regional train for the first leg, you can use an Einfach-Raus ticket (all day regional pass) for 35€.

There is also a direct bus (150) from Salzburg to Bad Ischl. It's a little faster and maybe less expensive. The route is more scenic, IMO.

I would suggest that you post this question on Trip Advisor as there is a local expert for Bad Ischl who would give you quality advice.

Never been to a spa in Bad Ischl, but never failed to visit Zauner, that is the cafe/confectionery in Austria with the largest selection.

Love Cafe Zauner. Highly recommend. (Sorry, know nothing about spas.)

I swam at the Eurothermen resort spa this summer and it is lovely. Their modern pool complex is quiet, relaxing and doesn't feel crowded even with a lot of people there. I can't comment on their massage services, food or hotel as we only spent a couple of hours at the pool.
