Austrian train Family saver card

I am looking to book tickets for my daughter and me from Salzburg to Zurich for early September. I put in our dates and found that there is no appreciable difference in adult and child prices. However, by purchasing a €19 Family saver card, my daughter travels for free thereby saving around €30 net. I have reviewed the English vision of the website in detail but am not sure if there is more information on the German language site. My German is rudimentary/non-existent.

I am wondering if I should purchase the card first and then the train tickets. There is a provisional card (printed at home) which give discounts in Austria but the actual card (mailed out) is needed for some international routes. I am not sure if that applies to online purchases. I don't want to wait until I get the actaul card to buy the tickets. I also don't need the card unless I can use it for the discount for this one train trip as we are not doing any other train travel in Austria.

The other option is to purchase the ticket at the family saver price and then purchase the saver card when we are in Austria. Is this even an option or do I bite the bullet and buy the saver card blindly?

I am also wondering if I should register on the Austrian train website or if this will cause me problems by not having the card.

Thanks/Danke!
