Austrian / German Alpine resort in May 1st half between Prague and Munich

Hi,
We are planning a trip to Prague, Cesky Krumlov and Munich for next May 1st half. As thats when my wife gets a vacation from her job. We have 10 nights in total excluding travel. The tentative itinerary is fly into Prague (3 nights), take a shuttle to Cesky Krumlov (1-2 nights), Alpine town (2-3 nights depending on nights in Krumlov), Munich (3 nights). Fly out of Munich
I know May isn't a very good time to visit the alpine towns and from what I have read online most cable cars would be closed. Considering that which town would be a good place for 2-3 nights. Have looked at Zell am See ( Kitzsteinhorn cable car is open) , Hallstatt (It just looks so pretty) , Fussen (with visits to the castles) and Oberammergau.
Which would be the better option of these at that time of the year? We travel by Public transport and are interested in cable cars, moderate treks and taking a break in between two cities so no museums for those 3 days.
Thanks
Yogesh

Public transportation out of Cesky Krumlov to an alpine town will be an all day experience as theses are not typically well connected areas. But, what I'd suggest is that you take either the CK or Bean Shuttle service which link Hallstatt and Cesky Krumlov very nicely. Alpine town doesn't get much better than Hallstatt.

I'd suggest either Berchtesgaden and area surrounding it or Garmisch.
