Are there any Advent concerts in Salzburg Dec 8 or 9? I've found classical concerts but am wanting traditional Advent or Austrian Christmas music. Thanks.

I checked the Salzburg Tourist Office website (in English) and found a concert on Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. (1600 hours) and the same concert the next day, the 9th at 7:30 p.m. (19:30). Remember that the dates are written as 8 December not December 8, etc. The concert is Austrian and advent music and readings, listed as Salzburg Advent Serenades. This takes place in the "Gotischer Saal" in St. Blasius Church (St. Blaise?), located in the Buergerspitalgasse (street). Check this website for info: http://www.adventserenaden.at

Thank you! I will check it out. In past trips we always attended a Salzburger Advent Concert at a lovely old church that I believe is across the river from the old town. The dates don't coincide this time with our trip.
