Accommodations in Salzburg

Hi , the more we read up on Salzburg, the more we wanted to spend a few nights there. Is there any accommodations you would suggest. Thanks so much.

We stayed at the Weisse Taube (white dove) Hotel, an excellent location and recommended often on this site. Also, we purchased the Salzburg Card for our activities and felt it was worth the cost.

http://www.hotel-hohenstauffen.at/salzburg/ we liked Hohenstauffen. It was inexpensive with a very Bavarian feel. The staff was so helpful and there is an extensive breakfast with staff served coffee and tea. It is by the train station which was very convenient for us, and a lovely 10-15 minute walk along the river to the old town.

We very much enjoyed Hotel Elefant. Great location, small property, quiet, good service.

There are many B&B just outside the city and public transportation is very good.
We stayed at Haus Ballwein and took the bus into town at the bus stop literally in front of their house.

It's been several years and the name has changed slightly, but the location can't be beat and we Loved this hotel the 2 times we have stayed there - Altstadt Hotel Zur Goldenen Ente. It has an apartment that sleeps 5.

We spent 3 nights this past Easter at Pension Katrin. Sandra was a wonderful host, breakfast was fantastic, and the room was clean & comfortable (we were in the junior suite with our 2 boys). Location is an easy (ie flat) 20 minute walk from old town or 2 minutes from the #5 bus line. Would definitely stay again!
