Accommodation in salzburg in august

Hi
We are looking for accommodation in Salzburg for early August. We are seniors and would like to stay in a safe area, and accessible to tourist areas, restaurants by public transport or within walking distance. Which area would you recommend for a mid range hotel?

We stayed at the White Dove Hotel (Weiss Taube) during our second time in Salzburg, and we liked the hotel, the staff, the breakfast and their location.

We took a taxi from the train station to make it very easy. The area around the hotel has restaurants, museums, the cathedral, etc.

We also recommend purchasing the Salzburg Card to see many sites.

EDIT: fixed the spelling of “Dove”!

Well, you are in luck as Salzburg is probably the safest town on the planet. I would recommend the historic center for lodging.

We also liked the Weisse Taube. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. The staff spent a long time trying to help me make hotel reservations for our next stop in Munich...”above and beyond” to my thinking. We took a bus from the train station and then a very short walk to the hotel. The location was excellent. Safe travels.

If you will have a car, the Pension Am Eschenbach ( Hellbrunner Str. 21) was nice because it has its own car park. The rooms were large and the breakfast was good. It's only a 15 minute walk, mostly along the river, to the old quarter. It's also on a bus line.

We will not have a car so preferably close to public transport and 3-4 star. We are not looking for luxury but clean, comfortable and a secure hotel with a room size of at least 15 Sqm, with a lift. Unfortunately the Pension Am Eschenbach is booked out for our dates. We have been to Salzburg before so all we want to do is Halstatt and Sound of music and perhaps a concert.
