Nestled between the Albertina and the Opera, Cafe Tirolerhof founded in 1918 is everything you want in a Viennese coffeehouse - Thonet style chairs, upholstered banquets, cake cases, racked newspapers and crystal chandeliers. I’m sitting here now in between appointments looking right at the Opera through a bubbly piece of glass with an Oriental shaped frame. The eggs, croissant and tea were just what I needed. Service was prompt and no fuss - no waiting for a table either.
