I intend to pick up a rental car and drive to Hallstatt on 28/07 and spend the day and night there, i have plenty of information on things to see in area and have accommodation booked.
29/07 was thinking of driving to Schafberg Cog Railway, perhaps having a boat ride on Wolfgangsee, before getting the Cog railway and stopping the night at the hotel (i will only do this weather/views permitting).
30/07 drive to Durnstein, drop off car at hotel, public transport back to Melk, visit Melk, then boat ride back to Durnstein.
31/07 head back to Salzburg.
My questions, does this look reasonable ? If i do not stop at Schafbergspitze hotel, will i be able to get accommodation in peak season, one thought i had was to check weather forecast 28/07 and if no good try get something then.
Also in my overall trip, i aim to get up Zugspitze, Jennerbahn and Five Fingers viewing points, do i need another high point (bearing in mind the costs involved).
Also heading back to Salzburg to Durnstein, any good stop off points ?
