Hi All,

I am staying in Seefeld in Tirol for 7 days (first week of Dec). I have already booked the hotels as i have to books accommodations for 7 days only at one location and hence cant change the location.I am going with my wife and would like to make the most out of this trip.

TIA in for all your suggestions.

Well, the first two places I would consider are the Xmas market at Innsbruck - and maybe the rest of the city, beginning from the Hofburg - and a trip to Mittenwald. If you are not into winter sports there will be not too much to do in Seefeld (and the first week of December may be too early for winter sports anyway).

There is a very nice indoor/outdoor heated swimming complex with spa that I recommend directly in Seefeld. I'd also suggest time in Innsbruck and Mittenwald.

We visited Innsbruck the first week of December in 2010 and 2013. Love, love Innsbruck and the Christmas markets. The Nordkettenbahn trip is worth the trip alone, as is the Hofkirche and Scloss Ambras. Try to stay until after dark, around 4:30pm, as that's when the old town Christmas markets (there are 3) really come to life and shine with all the lights.

If you want to take a scenic side trip, I would suggest taking the train to Mittenwald and then the bus (9608) via Walchensee to Kochel am See. From Kochel take another bus across to Murnau and return to Seefeld via Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Or from Murnau, take the train to Oberammergau and then the bus to Garmisch and from there by train.

Also worth a visit is "Hall in Tirol". It is a beautiful old medieval town which became famous and wealthy by minig salt and silver. Don't go on a Monday as the mint museum is closed. (Unfortunately we had not checked this in beforehand.)

Thanks everyone for your answers. I have one more question. I don't own skiing jackets and trousers and other skiing gear. Is it possible to rent all of these. Can you also recommend any ski schools for beginners. How many days should be sufficient for skiing school?

Thanks again
