6.5 Hour Layover in Vienna-What to do?

Wife and I fly into VIE from the US and have a 6.5 hour layover before our flight to Milan. We land at 8:30 AM and thought would be nice to get outside a bit to start acclimating to the time change. Not looking for anything fancy to do, but hoping for some suggestions. WIll just have our carry on bags so hoping to leave those at airport if we venture out (we are flying business class on Austrian Airlines, so maybe can leave in the lounge?). Thanks for your thoughts/suggestions!

Central Vienna is quite compact so you'll be able to see some nice places in 6.5 hours. To get to the centre you have the choice of the fast but very (and I mean VERY) expensive CAT train, or the much cheaper but slower S-Bahn train. Both will take you to Wien Mitte station from where you can take the U-Bahn to the centre of the city at Stephansplatz. Alternately there's a bus to Schwedenplatz on the edge of the centre.
