5 nights Zurich-Salzburg-Vienna

Hi everyone,

My husband and I will be visiting some of the lakes in Italy and Switzerland and then plan on making our way to Vienna. We have five nights before we fly out from Vienna.

We are looking for advice on the best route to get from Lake Lucerne to Vienna. We are not intent on spending a night in Zurich but we would like to spend a night in Salzburg.

We are a couple in our 30s no kids. We enjoy visiting museums, castles, beautiful views, wine, delicious food, sightseeing. We also understand five nights is short but that's all we have. We fly out of Vienna on the 6th night.

There are boat, bus, and rail connections all around Lake Luzern to get you to Zurich where you can get the Railet to Salzburg, 5 times a day. Salzburg to Vienna has a lot of trains, including the Railjet and the hourly Westbahn.
