5 min transfer enough in Villach? We’re going to Venice….any ideas? Travelling by train

Hi ok, first I sincerely apologise if this is a dumb question, out travel agent thinks 5 mins is sufficient but I’m not sure.
Sadly we only have 2 days in Venice
.
We are 3 adults on Eurrail passes…not runners! First time using train and one large suitcase each
We are travelling from Salzburg…we were hoping to go over the Brenner Pass but…times don’t seem to work out?

We need to be in Venice on sept 16 leaving from Salzburg.. any advice very appreciated

When we did this in 2018 it was fine. There were lots of people changing trains at the same time with no sense of urgency.

This is a timed connection. The train to Venice will not leave until everyone transferring from the Salzburg train has done so. The 5 minutes are more than enough.

The trains stop on either side of one platform, so you just move from one side to the other.
