3 days in Salzburg

We have 3 days in Salzburg, the middle of September. Recommendations of what to do? We want to do something with the Sound of Music? And Mozart?

Highly recommend the Fraulein Maria sound of music bike tour. My whole family enjoyed it! If you visit the fortress walk along the ridge over to Augustiner for a maß & a meal and enjoy their biergarten. Use RS app and follow along on his self guided walking tour.
Enjoy your trip!

LOVE Salzburg! I am also a huge Sound of Music fan.....and even tho others say is is cheesy I loved seeing everything I could on the tour. We stayed in the newer side of Salzburg.....not the older section but walked over every morning after breakfast to enjoy the old square and violins being played on the corners. We went to a fantastic choral program one night up at the old fortress at the top of the city. We enjoyed the best pumpkin soup I have ever tasted at a restaurant we walked by each morning on the way across the river.....I think it had a fox in its name. Its just a charming old beautiful city......so relaxing and quaint.
I do regret that our tour we had lined up to Hallstatt one day while in Salzburg did not have enough signed up so it was cancelled. To this day I still wish we had gone to the trouble to find a way there......it is a bucket list place worth seeing.

While we were in Salzburg we went for a concert at the fortress and we loved it . Its about 1.5 hours and starts at 8pm . We also went to Halstatt and St Wolfgang and loved the drive , its absolutely beautiful.
It rains a lot in Salzburg , so please do keep that in mind while you are there , you might need to plan your activities around that(It rained two of the four days we were there and it rains the whole day) .
