12 day trip in July (Zurich to Prague)

We have friends that temporarily live in Vienna and we are going to visit in July 25.

Wife and i are flying into Zurich, and will spend 2 nights, then take the train to Munich to meet another couple..

Schedule is a bit up in the air from there…. Planning on 3 nights in Munich, 1 in Salzburg, 3 in Vienna and 2 in Prague.

Will take the train for each leg from Zurich to Prague. then will fly home to DC from Prague.

Would love to hear any thoughts…suggestions…or otherwise.

We will most likely never go back to this region of the world again. Thank you in advance!

Not a lot of time for you to add to the itinerary but I would add one night to Salzburg so you have time to visit Berchtesgaden National Park just 35-minutes away on bus #840. The Konigsee ( “King’s Lake”) there is spectacular.
And, with any time for a daytrip out of Vienna— you’ll see castles and vineyards by taking an 80-minute train to Melk to see Melk Abbey and bike alongside the Danube to Durnstein and Krems. There also are riverboats you can take.
If you’re in Vienna on a Sunday, be sure to visit the Augustinerkirche at the Hofburg ( Palace) for an 11am High Mass composed by the likes of Mozart. Everyone is welcome at the Augustinerkirche and, since this is a religious service, there is no admission cost.
