Vienna; Pension Dr. Geissler

The description in the Austria guide book is accurate, in addition the rooms were recently renovated. The place is very clean and the staff was excellent and very helpful. The location seems a bit on the outside of the Altstadt, however everything was still within easy walking distance. There are a couple of good restaurants nearby as well. Vienna is a wonderful city to visit.

What restaurants did you go to that you enjoyed. I am going on the GAS tour and then spending 4 days in Vienna afterwards. I have never been to Vienna so it would be helpful to have some tips. Thanks.

We ate at and really liked; Gasthof Pfudl, Cafe' Sacher, Reinthaler's Beisl and Kardamom. A couple of these are not in Steve's book. Figlmüller - Bäckerstrasse was also recommended but we ran out of time to go there. If I can think of anymore I will add them..

Just to clarify, Vienna doesn't have an Altstadt, nor is that what the center is called. It is called Innere Stadt. In European terms, there is not much that is "alt" about the center of Vienna.
