I chose this hotel because we had a rental car and it seemed to be the closest guest house with free parking. Although this hotel was not in the Altstadt, it was only a 15 minute walk to the Mozartplatz and was on a couple main bus lines. Needless to say, the car stayed parked throughout the stay. The hotel is a pretty basic but well-appointed small hotel with above average service. The hotel staff went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Breakfast was always a first-rate continental style buffet with your choice of eggs. The breakfast room also had an automated espresso machine. This is a fine choice for a stay in Salzburg, especially if you have a car. One caveat – if traffic noise bothers you, ask for a room on the river side of the hotel. While the road side provides a nice view of the fortress, Hellbrunner Strasse (Austrian B150) is a pretty busy road.
