Hi everyone,
My husband and I will be in Innsbruck and Appenzell, Switzerland next August (2019) as part of a longer stay in Europe after our Germany tour. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for accommodations that they have used for those areas. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Appenzell last month. It's centrally located, a few mins walk from train station and owned by a wonderful family. Our room was clean with modern shower overlooking the main drag. Their breakfast was delicious and was also included. There is a cheese shop not far from the hotel where we bought local Appenzell cheese. By far the best we've had in all of Switzerland!

If you don't mind a short taxi ride, in Innsbruck we like Heimgartl on the Inn River. (Our second stay last Christmas.)
Family-style, great breakfasts. Walkable when you don't have bags.

You can go into the Innsbruck official tourism site or go into Booking.com to look for properties. There are an incredible number of small hotels and B&Bs in the region. Even going the least expensive properties is fine as all Austrian hotels we have stayed in have been obsessively clean. I started visiting there 48 years ago while in college.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you all so much for your input. I was able to get 3 nights at the riverside Hotel Heimgartl B&B for Innsbruck and I did secure a reservation at the Hotel Adler in Appenzell. I'm sure Hotel Appenzell would have worked out as well.
We are definitely looking forward to our adventure next summer.
