looking for a farm b&b in salzburg area

Hi all,

I am planning a trip to the Salzburg region in Austria in early November 2018. I was watching Rick Steve's youtube video on salburg where he mentioned that it would be ideal to stay at werfen to explore the Salzburg region.

Could anyone recommend some good farm B&B at werfen. I need an apartment for two adults/1 child with kitchen facility and am willing to spend upto Euro 75 per night.

Would also like to know if car rental would be required to explore this region. Or public transportation would be enough.

Thanks,
Subash

we have been in the area twice ( with a car) and there is so much to see. both times we stayed in the berchtesgaden and ramsau area. it is easy to drive to werfen from there ( if you want to visit the castle etc) however there is so much to see closer to berchtesgaden. ( so a search for berchtesgaden in the tab above) a car would definitely be a great option for this area. we have not had any problems driving around there. there is also a park and ride option if you want to visit salzburg. just so many good options available.
last year we stayed a few days at a farm stay/guesthouse ( it was recommend) Mayringerlehen situated near the small town of ramsau. it is a guesthouse, but at very reasonable prices we really enjoyed having breakfast included made so wonderfully by our great hosts. they gave us great suggestions to what to see in the area. having a local to talk to is so much better than staying in a hotel apartment. and this area is so inexpensive compared to lots of europe that we have travelled through.

one option ( for something completely different) might be to visit the local therme, ( see above) its open til late and we had a good time swimming around in the warm pools etc.
hope this helps
