Hotels that RS tours use in Salzburg

Looking for a hotel in Salzburg. In our past tours I have liked their choices

Hi, we stayed in Salzburg with a RS tour, but it’s been long enough that I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending it. It was located on the Mirabell Palace side of the river. We have stayed in Salzburg on our own, and we like the Alstadthotel Weisse Taube (the white dove) for both the hotel and also for the location on the fortress & cathedral side of the river.

During our Sep2022 GAS Tour, the two-night stay in Salzburg was at Hotel Trumer Stube.

Convenient location, on a quiet street off the main thoroughfare. About a 5-10min walk across the bridge to Getreidegasse and the historic sites beyond. Would definitely stay there again.

Be sure to ask for a room at the back of the Hotel Trumer Stube. We were on the RS tour in September and it was noisy in the rooms at the front of the hotel due to a wine bar across the street. It was warm, so we had to keep the windows open. With a fan in front of the window, it was fairly efficient. We were lucky to be facing the back of the property.

I will ask for a room in the back. We went in our first RS tour last September which was thru Tuscany, it was absolutely fantastic with our tour guide David Tordi. We are going on the 15 day Central Europe this upcoming September and plan on heading up to Saltzburg after the tour. Thanks again.

I also stayed in this hotel in Sept. It is very convenient to the Old City, safe area, and plenty of restaurants around the hotel. They have a nice breakfast buffet and the rooms are a very nice size. But, I did stay on the front side and it was loud. There are 2 bars right next to the hotel that start up around 8 p.m. and go until 2:00 a.m. They were also redoing the cobblestone and the work started around 6:30 a.m as they brought the equipment down the street. Then they drilled on the street all day. So it is a bit of a mixed bag.

Thanks for the honest reports on the noise at this hotel. We’ll avoid it.

I will be in Sakzburg in the Spring (I hope). I'm looking forward to staying in A RS tour mom and pop owned boutique hotel so I made a note of the name.
