Haus am Moos in Salzburg

We are currently staying at Haus am Moos on Moosstrasse in Salzburg. A number of other folks have provided positive reviews of this guesthouse, but I thought I would also add our experience. We are staying in their 1 bedroom apartment for 7 nights. Breakfast buffet, good WIFI, and parking are all included in the price. This is a wonderful sanctuary away from the bustle of the city. Bus 21, every 15 minutes, takes you into the city (about 15-20 min ride), or there is a car park, easily accessed at the foot of Neutorstrasse - before you go through the tunnel under the Monchsberg. This was surprisingly easy to find - well marked as you drive from Moosstrasse. We are cooking most of our evening meals and find this quite relaxing and a change from the heavy restaurant meals we had been eating in the 2 weeks previous. Groceries can be purchased at the extensive Maxi Markt in Anif - quite easy to find, or there is a nice kondeteri on Moosstrasse, closer to Salzburg. There are two nice restaurants about 15 min walk from Am Moos. The Strasser family treats you very well and welcomes you to their home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I, also, have stayed here - 3 years ago. We really enjoyed everything about it, including the Strasser family! We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment. Unfortunately, the heavy rains didn't allow us to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings, including the beautiful mountain view. Even in the bad weather, taking the bus wasn't a problem. The fact that Augustiner Bräustübl is at the other end of Moosstrasse had absolutely nothing to do with why we stayed there ;-)

The breakfast - and breakfast room - was very nice and relaxed. It was also very quiet. We will definitely stay there on our next visit to Salzburg!

Susan, 7 nights? I'm quite envious... ;-) Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Hi Eileen. Actually the Ausgustiner Braustubl is on our list for tomorrow ... :D. Hopefully the weather holds so we can enjoy one of those large stiens in the garden!!

Nino has also become our friend. He is a wonderful host.
