Hello all,
We have 2 nights in Hallstatt in Late Sept 2018 and we are thinking of doing a half day to Eagles Nest Berchtesgaden . Can anyone advise if there is a quicker way to get there other than returning to Salzburg please? We are relying on bus/trains for our transport.

You will be going back through Salzburg unless.you choose to take the rental car route..

Check the map. Berchtesgaden is only a few miles outside of Salzburg, so no. Maybe you can rearrange your itinerary to stay in Salzburg, instead of two nights in Halstatt? It would be a long, long day trip from there. If it were me, I'd skip B-gaden, and just keep moving forward.

Thanks David and Stan ....we do have 2 nights in Salzburg before Hallstatt, but we have planned very full days and we dont think we can fit in the half day to Eagles Nest. Hallstatt accommodation is already paid for.
