Hall--Gasthof Badl

We can't say enough good things about our stay at Gasthof Badl. Sonia made the whole trip truly outstanding. She gave us 2 suggestions for hikes in the nearby hills and they were the best hikes of my life. The great thing about hiking in Austria is that it almost always ends with a biergarten/restaurant, no matter how remote it seems. The town of Hall in Tirol is a lovely alternative to staying in Innsbruck. It is just beautiful, well cared for and has wonderful restaurants. The hotel lobby is also equipped with 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs, ready to give emotional support to anyone who will scratch their ears.

I absolutely agree. We have stayed there twice. The location, facility, staff and food are all just great and the dogs top it all off. Hope to stay there again someday.

You caught my interest. I’m not familiar with that part of Austria, but I love mountain scenery. Is it relatively easy to depend on public transportation in that area? To be able to do the hikes you did?

Carol, Yes, it was very easy to take the bus up to a good jumping off point. And Sonia will give you a card so that the bus is free in Hall. She also told us exactly which bus to take in Hall. When we went to Stans to hike to Wolfsklamm and to St. Georgenberg Guesthouse, she told us which train to take. Trains and buses are very frequent, so no need to rush to catch one.

Hi,

We have stayed at the Gasthof Badl five times for a total of 18 nights. LOVE it. The location, the views, convenience and especially Sonja and her crew. Absolutely wonderful.
