Bernina Express Reservation Departure Time

Hi there, I have purchased five tickets for the Bernina Express Tirano-St. Moritz, one-way, 2nd class seats ( 75, 76...etc), early June. However, there is no train time listed on the tickets. I've reviewed our tickets on the website and it only has our date, names, and seat number...but no time.
Is this because we can choose any of the three departure times?
If so, can the train fill up and why does the website require you to choose a departure time and seat number during the reservation process? I've emailed RHb, but no response after two weeks.
Thank you!! Any assistance would be appreciated! Barbara

You have tickets, and I assume from what you say, you also bought seat reservations. What exactly does it say on the seat reservation? it should have a date, train number, carriage number, and the seat numbers. Seat reservations are mostly definitely for a specific train departure and date.

What is Rhb? Is this a third party vendor?

RHb = Rhaetische Bahn, the operator of the Bernina Express, although the more proper abbreviation would be RhB.

Thanks for your reply! I would also expect to see the additional detail, but here is the information from my "wallet" on the website...one of these for each of the five tickets.

Yes, RhB, my apologies, the Rhaetian Railway.

That is odd. For what time did you actually purchase? There are 3 a day to St Moritz. 10:06, 13:17, 16:06.
For the time being, assume it is for the one you intended.

Seat 76 is in Coach 14, it is shown as taken on the 10:06 and 13:17 departures, so I assume you are on one of those 2 trains.

I agree, very odd!
I purchased the seats/tickets for the 13:17 time. I was hoping to hear back from them by email, but I'm not holding my breath. Do you know any other way to connect with RhB for specific questions? I haven't found a customer service phone number, only the general email.

Tickets are for a route, not a train. So tickets will not have train numbers or departures on them, just the origin and destionation, and the validity period. That is standard in most of Europe.

Reservations are separate. These are for a train, and should contain train numbers.

The text you quoted appears to just be from the confirmation email. An actual ticket has a QR (actually an AZTEC) code on it.
And your reservation should have a train number, and a car number on it, not just a seat.

Thank you for the additional info. I had read that we required a ticket and a seat and thought I had purchased both in the transaction. Currently, when I look up my tickets online, there is a QR code for each of the five tickets...to add to a digital phone wallet, this is what it says above each QR code. (My earlier response shows the seat reservations.) Maybe I am still missing a step?

If you paid 61 CHF, you have both a ticket and a seat reservation, as the ticket cost is 33 CHF for a 2nd class ticket from Tirano to St Moritz, and the reservation fee is 28 CHF, equals 61 CHF.

So you have tickets and reservations. And you know what train you reserved. So you are set. Do not worry too much about it.

Yes, ok, good to know that the $ add up to the cost of both ticket and reservation. Thanks so much for your detailed help, should be a cool journey through the alps!!
