Paris City Vision Tour to Vaux le Comte and Fountainebleu

I have not seen any recent posts about this outfit Paris City Vision Tours, which are mentioned in RS's Paris book in a seemingly favorable light. I am wanting to book the one day trip to the two chateaux. Can anyone comment about this tour, the company,or any pertinent information that would be of help?

PCV is owned (or run) by Gray Line, which I have used in other parts of the world and in the US with good results. There seem to be a great many bad reviews posted in the 20-teens, which I find troubling. And not much posted recently from anybody...

I'd appreciate any comments from satisfied or other PCV users. Thanks...

I did this tour in 2018. It was fine. Vaux le Comté was first and there was ample time to see the chateau and grounds and have lunch. Fountaineblue was in the afternoon. Again there was plenty of time to see all of it. The bus parked not too far away at both stops. Hope this helps.

I can not say anything about this tour group.

However, I will always advocate to go and see Vaux. It is the reason that Versailles was built. Known as the Château of one Fête.

If you do not do a tour through this company I would suggest seeing it. Saturday evenings May - Sept they offer candlelight tours. I highly recommend it. But it can be expensive.

These Grand Palaces are really built to be seen by candlelight. There is a wood carving technique called linen fold. It was done for the candlelight to bounce off of. (Best way to describe that).

Sorry for the tangent. Thanks for reading.

@pinksiouxzieq loved your comment about visiting the chateaux in candlelight.

Last December I visited Fountainebleu on a cloudy grey day. There were very few people and they had not turned on the museum type illumination. While it was not candlelit, the shadows were not washed out by brightlights, and it made for a very atmospheric visit.

I recently visited Vaux Le Vicomte and Fontainebleau with Paris and Beyond Tours, the day before our RS 7 day Paris tour began. Our guide was Ferit and he was wonderful, extremely knowledgeable, charming, and engaging. It was a private tour for me and my travel companion. He picked up us at our hotel, and spent the day with us. He knew so much about the history and architecture of both places. If a private tour is in your budget. I would strongly recommend Paris and Beyond tours. Neither palace was very crowded, unlike Versailles which we visited a few days later and there were crowds of tourists.
