Best of Switzerland in September question

Hi, all-this question is for those who've traveled to Switzerland in September. Our first RS tour was the BOE in 14 days. We went in late May and our days in the Berner Oberland were lovely but none of the little touristy places were open (restaurants in Gimmelwald, little help yourself cheese stands for example). We just booked the Best of Switzerland in Sept and are having second thoughts about this timing. Everything that I've read online suggests that this is the best time of year to go crowd-wise and temperature-wise but wondering if we'll run into the same situation where much is closed for the season already? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

On the My Way Alpine tour in September 2023, we stayed in Lauterbrunnen Valley in the Berner Oberland the nights of September 24,25 and 26. Everything was open, all gondolas, trains and lifts. The charming little cheese and honey stands in Gimmelwald were available. The weather was spectacular, we were so fortunate!

Thanks, Judy B! That was exactly what I was looking for. I knew that the lifts would be open-was more concerned about little touristy things since we missed that before.

We went on this tour 2022, last 2 weeks of September. Everything open and wonderful weather. Consider 2 extra days before tour starts in Lucerne. Easy train trip from Zurich and easy walk from train station to wonderful RS hotel.

Thanks, Jill!
We are definitely planning extra time in Lucerne at the beginning and extra time in the Berner Oberland at the end. I've seen on the Gimmelwald Pension website that their restaurant closes after the summer-this is disappointing and I'm hoping that it's not correct since they are still open for room reservations. This is kind of what I meant. We've decided not to worry about it and just to enjoy what is available!
