Hi, my friend and I are in Budapest from Croatia. We're going to have to go back to Dubrovnik from here, and we'd like to check out the islands off the coast of Croatia before landing back in Dubrovnik. While we took the ride through Zagreb, I was wondering what the alternative return-routes were. Any suggestions? Thanks
I suggest you call a local travel agent wherever you are and ask for help. I have done that in several cities around the world with great success.
I agree with Carl. We were in Budapest, same as you, and had to somehow get to Istanbul. We walked into a travel agency (I don't remember the name, but it is on the Pest side, right along the river) and they took care of everything. I would recommend giving it a shot.
Last summer we rented a car in Budapest and drove through Slovenia and down to Dubrovnik with no problems. We mostly stayed to the coastal areas. Hit Ljubliana to Piran (spectacular!) and then used coastal hwys mixed with bits of new freeway all the way down stopping in quaint towns. Great trip.
