Traveling in Switzerland w/ IPADS

I apologize is this is not the right forum for this question. My family will doing the 14 day RS's Switzerland tour this summer. My kids want to bring their IPADS for the plane ride. Does anyone know if the hotels have safes and whether it's generally a good idea to bring tech along?

I bring my iPad and just keep it in my suitcase.

If you do put them in the room safe, just don’t forget them. My brother-in-law left a watch in a hotel safe in Lugano, Switzerland. It would have cost more to ship back to the US than it was worth.

Enjoy the tour!! I haven’t taken it but am getting ready to return to Switzerland for a third time. It’s my favorite country. :)

We always take ours, but carry them around with us.

As to whether is it a good idea for kids to “bring tech”, that is to actually up to you. I would expect the hotels to have safes, but do not know for sure. The greatest danger, in my view, would be leaving them behind somewhere. My husband left his on the plane coming into London (British Airways), so it is not just kids that get careless.

We did get it back.

Thanks so much for the quick replies. We're bringing them for the plane/airport segments -- not for the actual trip. Last year we were stuck at the Iceland airport for six hours and they were a life-safer (sad, I know, but that's how it is these days).

My iPad is a mini, and a woman seated across the aisle from me on the plane had to remind me to take it with me when I deplaned! Of course, I'm an old person, but try to figure out some way to ensure they don't leave them behind.

I couldn't imagine going away without my iPad, it gets used for banking but mainly it is also my kindle and I use it for reading.

I would never book a hotel without a safe, and we always leave our ipads in there, along with other valuables such as spare credit cards, passports etc.

Part of our routine is a safe check before checkout, but I also set a reminder on my phone. We've never left anything behind in years worth of overseas travel, except a plugged in plug adapter once.
