Hotel in Lucerne

I stayed at the hotel des alpes on a RS tour. Check your dates to see pricing. Easy 5 to 10 minute walk to the train station. Our room had a nice view of the bridge, river and lake.

I too stayed at the Des Alpes and liked it. There is also the Hotel Pickwick right next door that is a little more basic (and less expensive) but looks like they have a 3 night minimum in September.

I have stayed in:
Hotel Ameron Flora
Ambassador Hotel (near the Lion Monument)
and Hotel de la Paix.
All are reasonably priced and clean, walkable to RR.

Be aware that local bus travel is free upon arrival. If the driver asks, show your hotel reservation. Buses are just outside the train station. Either your hotel or the Train Information office can tell you which bus and which stand.

When I stayed at the Des Alpes, they emailed me a QR code for the city buses 2 days before my arrival, not I needed it to walk across the bridge.
