I've look but can't find this information on the forum.
We will be driving from Granada to Valencia at the end of March/beginning of April. We will stop for one night in between the two
cities. Any suggestions as to an area or city to stay in about 1/2 between the two cities.

What route are you taking? Inland through La Mancha or closer to the coast along Murcia and Alicante?
I would like to ressurect this question. We are taking the same route, however I am wondering what is the best route (ie things to do, scenery, etc.) between the two cities. Is it worth it to take the extra time to take the road closest to the coast? And is there anywhere on the route that would help us celebrate a birthday for a teenager?
Inland, you’d head up to Manzanares then over to Valencia. The towns along that route are small.
Taking a more coastal route there are plenty of towns as well as Murcia, Cartagena, and Alicante where you could spend a night. There are a number of castles you could visit if you enjoy castles; Vélez-Blanco, Biar, Atalaya, and Lorca are a few. Near Alicante is El Palmeral.
