Planning trip to Scotland end of August. Arrive Edinburgh and depart Inverness. We have hotels booked both cities and 3 nights booked in Portree before ending in Inverness. Three nights unscheduled between Edinburgh and Skye.
Can’t decide about staying in Pitlochry to see sights around there including the Hermitage and Blair Atholl or visiting Glencoe. Is it possible to do both? We’ll have a car and will have done Stirling as a day trip from Edinburgh. Thanks!
Perfectly possible. Pitlochry is just under two hours from Edinburgh. Glencoe is about three hours drive from Pitlochry. Glencoe to Portree will be just under four hours. So with three days to play with betweern Edinburgh and Skye, you have plenty of time to do both. Possible 2 nights in Pitlochry (as there is more to do and see around that area) and 1 in Glencoe?
