PKP Intercity: Wroclaw to Krakow train in April

Found some info in other threads mentioning the website is difficult to use and does not show English translation.
Anyone book this route on the PKP website in English and have any suggestions? Could I wait to buy the ticket in Poland from machine or person; not sure about demand for a weekday early morning trip in April. Any other reliable transportation options other than flying?

My plan is to travel on April 22: Wroc-Krak.

Thanks!

I just used the PKP app. All in English. The website is a pain to use.

Some online train ticketing on the eastern side of Europe that just doesn't work. I found the same problem in a couple of cities close to there.

I visit the train station the day before departure and buy tickets in person. I don't wait to right before leaving.

Be careful as to what train you get on. Some are direct to Krakow and some trains connect you to a bus for the last part of the trip. It's a 3.5 to 4.5 hour trip depending on which train you get on.

Trains are fabulous in Poland. We found we did not need to book any train journey in advance.

There are many in Poland that speak English, less so at the train station ticket counters. Still, I liked using the ticket counter with an actual person. I would find the specific journey I wanted on my phone and screen shot it and show it to the person at the counter. When that wasn't possible, I wrote the city names out in block letters used an arrow to indicate direction and wrote down the time, using a 24 hour clock. (like 2pm is 14:00)

Poland is wonderful!

We were in Poland during the summer. We purchased all our train tickets while in Krakow, our first stop.
Go for first class. We did, it wasn’t much more and the ride was lovely.

I reserved tickets from Krakow to Wroclaw using the Koleo app. The routes/prices were the same as on the PKP website and app; with the Koleo app there were no issues with using my credit card and it was in English. (Thanks to others on this Forum who recommended the Koleo app!) It was only $2-3 per person extra for first class, so we enjoyed the extra space.

We were in Poland during COVID and tried to be extra cautious. After the first crowded train ride, we started to purchase 1st class. Yes, very inexpensive and much nicer ride.

BTW, there is a senior discount for the already inexpensive train tickets and the threshold is very low. Like 55 or 57?

Thanks for the responses! I downloaded the PKP Intercity app and had my payment rejected twice. Tried using Google Pay and required entering a "shipping address" to complete the transaction. Could not finalize the payment.

I may just buy ticket the day before at the station, hoping my first choice of a 07:30-1045 time slot does not fill up in first class on a Thursday in two weeks. Anyone else have knowledge about the Wroclaw-Krakow route (# of people riding the train in the morning)?

Have not tried the Koleo app yet. Will wait and see if Koleo is an option.
Thanks!

It seemed to me that there were always seats available. Buying seats the day before should be more than adequate.
