Has anyone travelled to Taormina for Christmas and New Years? I will be honoring my mom who passed away March 2nd and our Sicilian Heritage (sur name Natoli) this year for Christmas, arrival December 25, and my birthday, New Years Eve, returning home January 3, 2025, and would be interested in knowing what type of events take place. I've googled and it appears that there's normally a New Year's Eve party in the center of town with dancing and drinking but are there any other events that I might not be aware of? As it gets closer, do hotel restaurants take reservations even though you're not staying in their establishment? I'm traveling with a couple of friends and my 21 year old niece and so we're staying in an AirBnB in the center of town. When should I reserve a table for a New Year's Eve dinner and perhaps also a late Christmas dinner? In doing my research, it seems that it's way too soon to reserve. I also know that since it's off season not all establishments will be open but google tells me that there are still plenty open. Is that correct? I know it's a while off, but I can't wait to travel to Sicily. :-)
